Best Watersports You Have to Try in 2021

Do you feel like a fish out of water? Trapped on dry land, floundering around, looking for something interesting to do?

If you’re looking to add a splash of excitement to 2021, try some adrenaline-fueled aquatic activities! Watersports are gearing up to be the entertainment center of the year.

Not sure which exciting activity to try first? We”ve got your back. We’ve put together a list of watersports that are sure to provide you with hours of fun and great stories to tell your friends!

Ride the Waves

Surfing is one of the oldest watersports in existence. With the wind in your hair and a wave under your board, it’s easy to understand why people have enjoyed this sport for hundreds of years.

Wait for the right wave, paddle your board along with the wave until it crests, and then ride it towards the shore. Nothing beats the thrill of catching a good wave!

If you are new to surfing, consider trying bodyboarding first. Bodyboarders lie down when surfing waves, so this is a great way to get used to the movement of the ocean.

If you don’t have a board, don’t worry, you can always give body surfing a try. It is just like regular surfing, but without the board.

Catching a wave is slightly harder, as you don’t have the surface area that a board provides, but at least you don’t have to carry a hefty surfboard around with you all day!

Explore the Ocean

Snorkeling is a wonderful way to explore brightly colored reefs and observe schools of fish. This is a great activity for the whole family!

For a more in-depth experience, excuse the pun, give scuba diving a shot. Dive below the surface to explore the hidden treasures of the ocean. Swimming amongst the fish is an experience you’ll never forget!

You will have to complete a class and earn a certificate before you’ll be allowed to scuba dive, but the wonders that you’ll see are definitely worth the extra effort.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Take a peaceful paddle down your local lake or river in a canoe, kayak, or paddleboat. Boating is a peaceful way to enjoy the sights and sounds of the water.

If thrills are what you’re after, brave the rapids with some white-water rafting. Speed down the river, maneuvering between the currents and choppy water.

White water rafting is a great group activity and you can choose different difficulty levels based on your experience.

Get Pulled Into It

Water skiing is a great full-body workout. As a boat tows you, you fight to pull yourself into a standing position on either one or two skis.  Once you’re up, you zip along the water at high speed.

Prefer snowboarding to skiing? You’ll love wakeboarding then. Wakeboards give you greater maneuverability, allowing you to jump the boat’s wake and get some serious hang time!

Worried about your balance? Try kneeboarding instead.

It’s a similar concept to wakeboarding, except you kneel on a teardrop-shaped board. A strap over your thighs keeps you secure, so this is the perfect activity for kids and adults alike!

Boaters Outlet supplies a wide range of watersports equipment to people who can’t wait to hit the water and have fun!
